Respiratory illnesses and diseases can be exposed by all exposures to different triggers at work.


Work-related Asthma

According to the CDC, there can be up to 300 related asthma triggers in the workplace. There are two types of work-related asthma, occupational asthma and work exacerbated asthma. Occupational asthma is asthma that is caused by workplace exposures.Work-exacerbated asthma refers to asthma that is made worse by substances at the workplace. Here are some common causes of workplace asthma.

  • animal dander 

  • smoke 

  • chlorine based products

  • dust 

  • Ozone 

  • irritant chemicals

  • pollen 

  • Fumes

  • Chemical vapors

  • Wood smoke

Building Ventilation

Proper building ventilation can have a big impact on workers respiratory health. Heating Ventilating and air-conditioning systems help protector workers lungs from:

  • Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide

  • Tobacco Smoke

  • Molds and bacteria

  • Cleaning products

  • Pesticide

  • Vehicle exhaust.
