April is National Distracted Drivers Awareness Month. It is important to keep your focus on the road every single time you get behind the wheel. This month is a special opportunity to bring awareness to safety concerns related to distracted driving. According to the National Safety Council, "at least nine Americans Die and 100 are injured in distracted driving crashes” every day. That is a staggering statistic when it is possible to prevent distracted driving.
A major shift over the last few years is cell phones in the vehicle. From cell phones to the radio, a number of things can take your eyes off the road. When it takes only five seconds to cover the length of a football field (going 55 mph) any small distraction can result in a major accident.
The key to preventing these accidents: Keep your eyes on the road.
